Makita Battery Chargers

Four compatible chargers for Makita cordless batteries. The DC18RC compatible is a single-bay charger for 18V LXT lithium packs such as BL1830, BL1850 and BL1860B. The DC18RD compatible charges two lithium packs at once. The four-port rapid charger handles four 18V packs and adds a USB output for your phone. For older pod-style tools, the DC1414T / DC1414F / DC1804 compatible charges 7.2V to 18V Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries.

Check the label on your battery: slide-on LXT packs need one of the first three; pod-style packs need the last one. These are compatible chargers with AU plugs, not Makita originals. Ships from Sydney, easy returns.

Frequently asked questions

Can a compatible DC18RC charge 14.4V Makita batteries too?

Yes. The DC18RC style charger detects the pack voltage and charges both 14.4V and 18V LXT lithium slide batteries. It will not charge 12V CXT stick batteries or the older Ni-MH pod batteries. Charging a BL1850 5.0Ah pack from empty takes roughly 45 minutes.

How long does the four-port rapid charger take?

Each bay charges independently at rapid rate, so four 3.0Ah packs are done in about 30 minutes and four 5.0Ah packs in around 45 minutes. It draws more power than a single charger, so plug it into a wall outlet rather than a light-duty extension lead. The USB port runs at 2.1A.

Why does my old Makita charger not charge new batteries?

Older Ni-MH and Ni-Cd chargers like the original DC1804 lack the circuitry to charge lithium packs and may not even fit the slide connector. If you have moved to LXT lithium batteries, use the DC18RC or DC18RD compatible charger. Keep the old charger only for pod-style Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries.
